Crimes

All crimes that occur on campus property should be promptly reported to Campus Safety.  If you are the victim of a crime off-campus and need assistance with reporting to the appropriate jurisdiction, contact Campus Safety at 925-631-4282.  Campus Safety will provide assistance and can coordinate with the Moraga Police Department, as needed.

Criminal or Suspicious Activity

DO NOT attempt to apprehend or interfere with criminal activity except in the case of self-protection.  Make observations that you can share with Campus Safety or the police.

When calling Campus Safety or 911, give your location, and a description of what you observed, and remain on the line until directed to hang up.

Campus Safety is available to provide an escort on campus for anyone who requests it by calling their dispatch at 925-631-4282.

Assaults

Be mindful and aware of your surroundings as many of these incidents are crimes of opportunity.  Take these steps to make sure you are safe:

• If you are working after hours or on weekends, notify Campus Safety of your arrival, your location, and how long you will be working.  Campus Safety Patrol officers will know where you are and can stop in, as time permits, to check the area.
• If practical, lock the door of the room you are working in.
• When leaving a building at night, request that Campus Safety provide an escort to your car or building.
