How do artists draw from the cultural repositories of poetry, history, dance, and music to create personal yet universal work? This question guides our curator-led gallery discussion of Cianne Fragione’s evocative paintings, drawings, and assemblages. As we tour the exhibition “Isole,” we’ll discover how Fragione layers (and scrapes away) oil paint, physical marks, and found materials—evoking fragments of memory, stories and secrets, preserved and concealed by the artist’s practice.
