Required Courses

 

12 units of required core courses:

FPSY 671: Trauma, Loss and Grief (3 units)

FPSY 572: Foundations of Trauma Treatment (3 units)

FPSY 574: Neurobiology of Trauma: Risk, Resiliency and Positive Psychology  (3 units)

FPSY 575: Spirituality, Community & Trauma (3 units)

 

3 graduate elective units (pick one of the following):

FPSY 676: Devel Trauma, Complex PTSD, & Fam Systems (3 units)

FPSY 677: Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care (3 units)

FPSY 679: Healing the Healers (3 units)

Or the approval of the Chair

 

Undergraduates can take up to 9 units of the 500 level FPSY courses (572, 574, 575) as part of their undergraduate coursework. Once a student graduates with their BA, they can apply for the Trauma Certificate and take the remaining two classes. 3 units can be applied towards the MA in Forensic Psychology or the Double MA in Counseling and Forensic Psychology.
