The Legacy of Pat Vincent
In the 1960's, Saint Mary's rugby became one of the premier rugby programs on the West Coast. The Gaels made strides in Northern California, well respected club which was known for power and speed. In 1968 Pat Vincent changes the face of rugby for Saint Mary's. Patrick B. Vincent brought his stellar rugby career from New Zealand and made a home at SMC. During his time, his extensive wealth of knowledge and passion for the game translated into victories on the pitch for the Gaesl. Pat Vincent was appointed Athletic Director in 1973.
