Otherness in Kafka's Metamorphosis

Come explore the experience of “otherness” through Kafka’s tale of a man who wakes one day to find himself transformed into a giant bug. We’ll explore the novella’s symbolism and themes, noticing how Gregor Samsa’s strange new body alters the way others treat him and his own worldview. Then we’ll invent our own “transformation” stories, imagining ourselves turned into unexpected creatures or objects. Would an alteration of your form change your identity?
