About

Looking for a guided museum experience? Join us for our standard walk-in exhibition tours, which explore assemblage and collage works by Cianne Fragione and her mentors, Jay DeFeo, Frank Lobdell, and Manuel Neri.

Cianne Fragione's recent body of work, Isole, features paintings, assemblages, sculptures, and drawings. Through visual marks, color, and spatial relationships, Fragione explores the fluidity of motifs and memories of the sea.

Fragione's mentors, Jay DeFeo, Manuel Neri, and Frank Lobdell, shaped her approach to art in the San Franciso Bay Area. The exhibition, Visceral Processes, examines the intentionality behind infusing countercultural elements with intuition, the obscure, and inward reactions to define the Bay Area voice.

Our tours of these exhibitions are designed to be interactive and inquiry-based. Curator-led tours are offered on select Thursdays at 11:00 AM, and student-led tours are offered on Saturdays at 2:00 PM through December 12. Expect them to range between 20 and 45 minutes. The museum will be closed the week of Thanksgiving, but operations will resume the following week. Admission and tours are free.
