Julie Park

Professional Overview

Julie Park earned a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, and has recently published papers on Aeschylus, Plato, Stoic philosophy, and Thomas Mann. She has taught at Saint Mary's since 2013, and in 2019 was awarded the Brother O. DeSales Perez Award for Excellence in Collegiate Seminar. Since joining the Integral Program in 2018, she has taught the Music Tutorial, Freshman Seminar, and Junior Language, and feels she has learned more from leading Integral courses than from most of the courses she took in graduate school. Outside of teaching and scholarship, she plays the piano and harp. Her favorite reading from Freshman Seminar is Homer's Iliad, which she loves all the more the more she reads it.
