Renée Witon teaches piano, music history, music theory, and is an accompanist at St. Mary’s College of California. Renée appears as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist in the Bay Area and beyond. She has received degrees from Alverno College (BM) and The Catholic University of America (MM). She studied piano with Benedicta Fritz, James Norden, Béla Nagy and chamber music with Robert Gerle. Further studies include composition with Robert Parris at The George Washington University. In addition, Renée is the Director of Music Theory for the 250 voice San Francisco Girls Chorus. She has also taught piano at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, and has worked as a music specialist at the Library of Congress. She produced and hosted KUSF-FM’s contemporary classical showcase program, Classics Without Walls. Her solo piano CD, features music of Brahms, Beethoven, Suk, Ravel and her own compositions. She also maintains a private piano studio in Oakland, California.
