📑Accessibility and Course Design Workshops

 

1. Making Course Material Accessible   |   September 25, 2024   |   1:30-2:30   |   FAH 205 or Zoom

Is some of your class materials in a handout form either physical or digital? Do you create your own course reader? Have you ever had issues with students saying that they can't access or read these materials. In this session we will go over and give you some tools on how to go about making your class handouts, course readers and help you create physical and digital handouts in a more accessible way. Which will give you more time to teach and the last time working on troubleshooting.

2. Universal Design: From Canvas to Powerpoint   |   October 23, 2024   |   1:30-2:30   | Zoom 

Have you ever wanted to know how to make sure the class pages you're creating in Canvas or that PowerPoints or google slides you're making for your class lecturer are accessible and reaching a wide range of your students? In this session we will teach and give you some tips and some tools on how to be mindful of making your class content more accessible.

3. Accessibility Features on Canvas    |   Date, Time, Location TBD

You don't need to be an expert nor need to know everything about accessibility. With the built-in accessibility features in Canvas anyone can make sure their class Canvas pages are accessible friendly. In this session we will show and teach you how to use the user-friendly built in accessibility features within Canvas.

Developing and Refining Assessment Plan   |   Spring 2025   |   Date, Time, Location TBD

This workshop is designed to help you develop a meaningful, and efficient assessment plan for your program. We will also explore using Nuventive platform for real time proactive assessment of student learning and program learning goals. Through this hands-on workshop, faculty and programs can identify support they need to develop a robust assessment mini-grant proposal and to move their assessment efforts to the next level.

The goal of this workshop is to showcase the ongoing  assessments efforts on campus as an inspiration for ongoing assessment. The workshop will focus on the next steps and strategies for continuous improvement.
