Electronic Resource Licensing 

Electronic resources available through Saint Mary’s College of California (SMC) are licensed by the College for non-commercial use by SMC faculty, staff, students, and on-site users for educational or research purposes only.  Additional restrictions may apply for specific databases. 

The agreements between SMC and the vendors regulate the use of these resources. Copying and reselling texts from licensed sources to non-subscribing persons, institutions, or organizations is never permissible.  Other conditions might include restricting copying or printing material, or including content in course reserves.

Saint Mary’s College Instructional Technology department offers a Technology Policy that is also incorporated in both the graduate and undergraduate handbooks.  Breaches of college license agreements could result not only in loss of personal access, but loss of access for the entire community as well.
