Academic Convocation Honors Brother Ernest Miller, FSC, DMin
Saint Mary’s is pleased to announce a very special Academic Convocation on Wednesday, April 27, honoring a contributor to our Lasallian mission, Brother Ernest Miller, FSC, DMin. Additionally, we will honor one faculty person and one staff person as Outstanding Lasallian Educators.
A person of true faith and zeal, Brother Ernest is being recognized for his exemplary leadership and service in promoting the Lasallian, Catholic charism and mission in his position as Vice President of Mission, Diversity, and Inclusion at La Salle University; as a highly sought-after national and international Lasallian leader for equity and presenter at conferences, workshops, and retreats; and in his most recent appointment as the founding director of the Adrien Nyel Project in the Lasallian District of Eastern North America, a new ministry to encourage in youth the vocation for teaching within the Lasallian charism. We are also honored that in January of this year, Brother Ernest was elected to the Board of Trustees of Saint Mary’s College, starting July 1.
The Academic Convocation is a key moment in our academic year and a signature event of our annual De La Salle Heritage Days. This year’s theme is “All Together More,” first introduced during our inauguration celebration. We emphasize our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and honor the rich variety of gifts and experiences that make our community special. We invite you to see the full calendar of events here and especially to share in our Community Day, Saturday, April 23.
We hope you are able to join us for the Academic Convocation on Wednesday, April 27, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Saint Mary’s Chapel, and at the reception immediately following in the Soda Center. Here, we will congratulate Brother Ernest and our two Outstanding Lasallian educators, and celebrate being All Together More.
