Celebrate Class of 2022 Commencement This Weekend
All are welcome to celebrate our graduates and their accomplishments at Saint Mary’s in-person Commencement celebration this weekend. The Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will take place this Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Saint Mary’s Stadium, and the Graduate and Professional Studies Commencement Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Saint Mary’s Stadium.
Traffic and Parking
Graduates should plan to arrive 2 hours early to allow plenty of time to get your registration card and file into the correct queue. Please keep in mind that traffic may be slower than normal, so please plan for traffic delays in the area.
Tickets are not required for entry or parking at Commencement ceremonies, and there is no limit to the number of guests who may attend. However, there will be a limit of two vehicles per graduate. We are not allowing buses, floats, party trolleys, motor homes, or any vehicle exceeding 30 feet inside the entrance that day.
Livestream
If guests are unable to attend Commencement in person, they may access the ceremony via livestream on the Commencement website the day of the ceremony. The livestream recording will also be available on the Commencement website after each ceremony.
Health and Safety
Based on an assessment from SMC Contact Tracing of the increased number of cases both on campus and in the county, as well as the projected increase in cases, we strongly recommended that you and your guests wear a mask throughout all Commencement activities.
Guests with mobility issues can proceed directly to the accessible seating section. This section is reserved for family members who use wheelchairs or have difficulty walking. Each guest may bring one additional person into the accessible seating section with them. Accessible parking is available, as well as golf carts to help family members get to the ceremony site. Sign language interpretive service is provided as part of the ceremony.
