KSOE School Psychology Program Earns NASP Candidacy Status

The Kalmanovitz School of Education School Psychology program has achieved Candidacy Status with the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). This significant milestone reflects our commitment to meeting the highest standards in the preparation of school psychologists and marks the beginning of our journey toward full NASP accreditation. 

By obtaining candidacy, KSOE’s program is recognized for its strong foundation in faculty expertise, curriculum, field experiences, and community partnerships. This status not only enhances the program’s reputation regionally but also positions us as a leading institution in the field of school psychology, attracting prospective students and fostering professional growth. 

It makes us a top choice for prospective students and supports our growth in the field. It also gives us a chance to get feedback from NASP to help us further enhance the program and meet their high standards. 

We are confident that this progress will lead us to full accreditation, further elevating our program and expanding our impact locally and more broadly. Once we complete the accreditation process, that will enable students who begin the program in Fall 2024 or later to confirm that they attended a NASP-accredited program, allowing them to bypass submitting a separate portfolio to NASP to become Nationally Certified School Psychologists (NCSP), as they will be grandfathered in.
