Photo Gallery: Saint Mary's Honors Emeriti Faculty for Distinguished Service
Familiar faces and warm conversations filled the Soda Center at a March 21 event recognizing retired faculty members.
As members of SMC’s academic community laughed, shared stories, and reminisced about their lives and careers, four Saint Mary’s faculty members in attendance were conferred with their new emeriti status, while two additional faculty members who were awarded emeriti status in Spring 2023 were also recognized as additions to the distinguished list of Professors Emeritus.
New emeriti faculty received medallions in honor of their new rank and their many years of distinguished service.
The four emeriti faculty who were in attendance and conferred at the reception are:
- Brenda Hillman - School of Liberal Arts
- Elaina Rose Lovejoy - Kalmanovitz School of Education
- Katherine Perez - Kalmanovitz School of Education
- Penelope Washbourn - School of Liberal Arts
The two faculty members granted emeriti status in Spring 2023 are:
- Raina León - Kalmanovitz School of Education
- Chris Ray - School of Science
