Saint Mary’s College has done it again! The Princeton Review has named Saint Mary’s among The Best 387 Colleges in the nation. The 2022 edition of the annual college guide honors Saint Mary’s for several outstanding distinctions, including naming SMC among one of the Best Western Colleges and as a Green College. The College also scored high marks for its Quality of Life rating.

“It is affirming to hear that The Princeton Review has once again rated Saint Mary’s College among the best colleges and universities in the United States. This is high praise,” said Corey Cook, PhD, Interim Provost and Chief Academic Officer. “Saint Mary’s is being recognized for our transformative and inclusive teaching and commitment to providing students with an education that empowers them to make lasting change in the world. Much of the credit goes to our outstanding faculty, teacher-scholars who meet students where they are and enable them to become the very best versions of themselves. We are grateful that our leadership in environmental sustainability and environmental justice is also being cited. Sustainability is a pillar of our strategic plan and is core to Catholic, Lasallian heritage.”

Since 1992, the Best Colleges guide has showcased the schools it recommends to college applicants and their parents as the nation’s best for undergraduate academics. It features only about 14 percent of America’s four-year colleges. This edition did not tally the annual ranking lists of top 20 colleges because it was not able to survey students living on campus last year due to the pandemic.
