SMC Login Authentication Transition Effective May 30, 2024

We're excited to announce that we will be transitioning from our current SMC login provider to a new one. This strategic shift is aimed at enhancing security, improving user experience, and streamlining access to campus resources. As we make this transition, there are a few things to keep an eye out for to ensure a smooth process.

  1. Changes to the Login Interface and User Experience: You may notice some differences in the login interface and authentication process when accessing campus systems and applications. Specifically, the new login screen will require you to enter your full SMC email address, including "@stmarys-ca.edu". 
    Example: username@stmarys-ca.edu
     
  2. Gradual App Updates: Many of the apps you access through MySMC will be updated gradually over the next few months (May 30 - June 30, 2024), rather than all at once. This phased approach aims to minimize disruption and ensure a seamless transition for everyone.

Below are the differences between the two login screens. You might encounter both versions during the transition.
