Warm Wishes for a Wonderful Thanksgiving Break
A message to the Saint Mary's Community
During this season of gratitude and before many of you leave campus to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with family, friends, and loved ones, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for each of you.
It has been roughly 120 days since Debbie and I arrived in Moraga to begin this new journey, and our Saint Mary’s experience has been everything we had hoped for—and more. That is largely because of you—Gael students, faculty and staff members, De La Salle Christian Brothers, supporters and alumni, and others connected to this amazing institution.
I am truly grateful for the spirit of community, service, collaboration, kindness, and creativity that exists on our campus. On a more personal level, the love of my family and friends fills my heart with joy every day, especially during the holiday season.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we have and appreciate, while perhaps enjoying family traditions such as NFL football on TV, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, cooking (and eating!), pre-Christmas shopping outings, church and spiritual reflections, service to the less fortunate, or other activities. However you spend your time during the break, I hope it brings you happiness and peace.
Thank you for being an essential part of our community. I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with warmth and gratitude. Take care, and I will see you again soon. And Go Gaels!
Sincerely,
Roger J. Thompson, EdD
