Cummins Institute Essay Winners
As a way of widening the discussion of what it means for Saint Mary’s College to be a Catholic College, the Bishop John S. Cummins Institute for Catholic Thought, Culture, and Action sponsored a contest last year for the best response to the question of “A Catholic College: Why it Matters.” The responses chosen could be in the form of an essay, a video production, or other artistic medium.
There were two winners announced in the Spring of 2014. Both contestants wrote astounding essays on the significance of a Liberal Arts education. Those authors were Darcy Tarbell and David Arndt. For more information about the contest and to view the winning essays.
