About ILaLS

The center fosters diversity on campus through research and scholarship that increases knowledge about Latin American and U.S. Latino cultures, by educating our communities about the historical, social, political, and economic reasons for the presence of Latino students in California and on campus, and by serving as a source of expertise on Latino and Latin American matters for the campus community and beyond.

Goals:

• Promote and enable research and scholarship about Latin America and Latinos.
• Advance scholarly debates about issues pertaining to Latin America and Latinos in the United States.
• Disseminate faculty scholarship and their contributions to debates on Latin America and Latinos issues.
