The Borderlands project aims to increase knowledge about contemporary border life and to understand the impact of Mexican culture and Latin American immigration in California and beyond.  The project includes a faculty immersion experience on the Tijuana-San Diego Border.  With support from Mission and Ministry, the Office of Mission, the College Committee on Inclusive Excellence, the Cummins Institute, and ILALS itself, the first faculty cohort traveled to San Diego and Tijuana in July 2018.  The second group followed in the summer of 2019. Covid disrupted subsequent plans, but we hope to continue offering important experience soon.
