After completing your Bilingual Authorization, you will be able to:
- Take an asset stance toward Latinx students’ and communities’ linguistic and cultural resources and draw on them to support student learning
- Understand bi/multilingual language use and development in Latinx communities in California and the US
- Use your Spanish language and literacy abilities to support your students’ learning and partner with their families
- Understand different bilingual program models
- Create learning experiences that support students’ language, literacy, and content learning in Spanish and English
- Understand the transferability between Spanish and English and build students’ metalinguistic awareness
- Develop instruction that is culturally and linguistically responsive to your student community
- Use formative and summative assessments to inform and differentiate instruction
